We are a small school, but big on heart and big on ambition!
In my previous Principal’s Message, I welcomed our new students. It has been exciting for me to start getting to know them, and we place great emphasis on everyone being known individually by their fellow students and staff. Our governors, who are frequent visitors to the school, also take time to meet and talk with our students.
I was therefore particularly pleased to see the comments that our Year 9s gave when asked to share their Atrium experience thus far. Two of my favourite responses are:
“ The environment in the classrooms is much more focused, the work is much more challenging, and the teachers generally care about your learning.” Rosie
“ Teachers are enthusiastic with our learning. They use interesting ways to help our understanding and learning.” Heather
We also received some outstanding feedback from members of ‘Constructing Excellence South West’ (CESW), when we hosted their Leadership Council meeting earlier this week.
CESW is a not-for-profit think tank and best practice organization, charged with improving the performance of the UK construction industry for the benefit of its clients and all stakeholders. We have developed strong links with CESW since our opening in 2015, and are grateful to those members who provide our students with regular, meaningful work experiences and mentoring opportunities in the Built Environment industries – a key feature of our school.
As a parent myself, I understand that parents would do anything, give anything, to make their children successful. Please rest assured that all my staff and I will be relentless in our quest to ensure our students – your children – grow into confident and skilled professionals.
